BTS is no stranger to making records, whether it is in Korea or overseas. They have made an impression on the hearts of people, which has a rare chance to go away. While winning awards for their talent and achievements is not uncommon, being considered by Grammys for their award is a big feat. But BTS, being BTS, has been first in many cases for both the band and the award ceremony. Their newest record was nominated 5 times for the Grammys, this year being their 3rd consecutive year to be nominated for the prolific awards.

5. BTS is the first Korean artist to get a Best Recording Package Nomination in 2019
One of BTS’ most versatile albums has been “LOVE YOURSELF 轉 TEAR”. With an amalgamation of various music forms and moods, the album is a fan favorite. Thus, it became even more special when the album was nominated for the “Best Recording Package” category in 2019. Although the designer Husky Fox was the one who was nominated, it was for BTS, so it was a pretty big deal to be nominated.
4. First Korean Act to perform at the Grammys 2020
Lil Nas X has been known for the continuous hits he has released, especially his collaborations, one of them being “Old Town Road” with Billy Ray Cyrus. Another version of this song was made with Kim Namjoon, better known by his stage name RM, and the son quick to be looped on people’s playlists. While BTS was already at a massive height, Lil Nas X collaborated with the whole band, this time for his performance on the “Old Town Road”. With this appearance, BTS made history by being the first Korean Act to perform at the Grammys. And when it comes to their styles and performance, well……… people went feral, to suffice it. Like, literally feral. They looked THAT good.
3. First K-pop band to present an award at the Grammys in 2019
Another record they made was when they were asked to present an award for the “Best R&B Album” category. While their appearance was beautiful itself, they were the first K-pop band to present an award for a Grammy category. Looking eye-fetchingly handsome in tuxedos, they presented the award at the prestigious award ceremony.
2. First Korean artist to get Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy Nomination in 2020
2020 was one of the best years for BTS. The release of their full-fledged English song, “Dynamite” which is celebrated even now, gave them a nomination in the “Best Pop/Duo Performance” category. In 2022, BTS completed 9 years in the music industry. Thus, this year was special for not only ARMYs but also for the band too. This comeback was really important as they had made the album not for themselves, but for ARMY and the bond they share with the seven-member band. Thus, “Yet To Come” was like a personal love letter from BTS for ARMY. Thus, receiving a Grammy Nomination for “Best Music Video” for this video was an unexpected surprise. It established a new history by BTS as their video was the first Korean Lyric video to be nominated for the Grammys.
