Thus, it goes without saying that Korean Dramas have been upping their comic game and plan to carry the streak in 2023 too. Hence, we bring you 6 upcoming comic K-dramas that would make sure that you are satisfied with the comedy quota throughout the year.
6. Chicken Nugget
Adapted from the Webtoon of the same title, it is the story of how a beautiful girl, Choi Min Ah, turns into fried chicken when she enters a mysterious machine. The plot then follows how her father, Choi Sun Man, and an intern named Go Baek Jung come together to turn Min Ah back into a human, but are they prepared for the secrets they would unveil along the way?
Impressing us in her latest work, “20th Century Girl”, fans are no doubt very excited to find out how Kim Yoo Jung’s next project will deliver.
5. Murder DIEary
Yes, you read it right, and no; we didn’t make a grammatical error. The title of the thriller-comedy Choi Woo Shik is starring next is actually named “Murder DIEary” where a student named Lee tang who working at a convenience store accidentally kills someone but then one day, comes to know that the person he killed was a serial killer. Thus, he learns about his supernatural ability to find out “bad seeds”, following him becoming a hero of the shadows who punishes people with unethical deeds in their past.
With a combination of thriller and comedy, this drama is an adaption of the webtoon named, “Sarinjaonangam” which has Woo-Shik fans eagerly waiting for him to return expecting a character being the mixture of his role in “Our Beloved Summer” and “The Witch: Subversion”
4. King The Land
A classic grumpy man-sunshine woman Rom-com with a twist for chaebol-hierarchy issues, Lee Jun Ho and Yoona unite as Goo Won and Cheon Sa Rang where Goo Won, who cannot stand fake smiles encounters the sincere and bright smiling Sa Rang and what follows is a love story entangles with a race to the throne of the company.
3. Crash Course in Romance
What happens when an ex-athlete-turned-side dish vendor enters the private education field and crosses paths with an elite instructor?
“Prison Playbook” fame Jung Kyung-ho stars in this cold man-sunshine woman story with Jeon Do-yeon which would follow the journey of her character Na Seung Han, falling in love with the cold and indifferent Choi Chi-Yeol and how their romance progresses.
It will be aired after the second season of ‘Alchemy of Souls” ends, I.e., on Saturday and Sunday at 21:10 time slot on tvN.
2. Is It A Coincidence?
Another Webtoon adaption, “Is it a Coincidence?” has Kim So Hyun becoming Lee Hong Ju, a girl who works as an animation production PD and is mentally scarred from a past love. Scared to fall in love again, her life takes a turn when her first love Kang Hu Young, played by Chae Jong Hyeop, enters her life.
The queen of Webtoon adaptations, Kim So Hyun is back with another story to make you laugh and simultaneously tug at your heartstrings with the romance.

Probably one of the most-anticipated dramas of 2023 starring Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin, it is a rom-com literally out of this world. Set in outer space, the story follows Gong-Ryong, played by Min-Ho who specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology and leaves for the space station as a space tourist with a mission. He is with Eve Kim, A Korean-American astronaut played by Hyo Jin who with a no-nonsense attitude.
What follows is the chemistry that builds up between them in a quirky story in what could be a grumpy woman-sunshine man story.
